Ed Sylvia, CPA, CFP

Ed is the principal in the firm which he established in 1985.  He has experience in both the private and public fields of accounting and tax. Before establishing the firm he worked for a big six accounting firm.

 He has a Master of Science degree in Taxation from Bryant College (1992), a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Babson College (1981), and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, with a minor in Computer Science from Northeastern University (1977).

 Ed became a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts and New York State in 1983 and in 1990 was also licensed as a Certified Financial Planner.  He is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.

 He is a corporator of Fall River Five Cents Savings Bank, pilot class member of the Prince Henry Society, and past president of the New Bedford chapter of Toastmasters Speech Club.  Ed has also taught accounting and management courses at Bristol Community College and Lesley College.  A native of New Bedford and alumnus of Bishop Stang High School, Ed resides in North Dartmouth with his wife Maureen, and four children.
